It was quite the week at AAU Junior Olympic Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina at North Carolina A&T. 29 age group national records were set over the course of the eight days, and two of those performances belong to North Carolina's own JaMeesia Ford and Bershawn Jackson Jr.
Ford, a rising senior at Jack Britt, set the 17-18 age division national record in the 400m, clocking a NC No. 3 all-time 52.41 to win the national championship. Ford was had herself quite the week on top of the national record. She took gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m. She ran a personal best of 23.45 in the prelims of the 200m as well.

Jackson Jr. is only 10 years old, but he is establishing himself as the next blossoming star in North Carolina. He currently competes for RDU Xpress. He clocked 12.57 in the prelims of the age 10 100m dash and earned top seed in the finals. He went on to win the 100m finals on Saturday and set an age group national record in the process clocking 12.43. It was a huge breakthrough performance for to 10 year old phenom.
Jackson Jr. also won the 200m on Friday, winning the gold in 25.32. He was just .07 off the age group record of 25.25 set just last year. He was also the top seed in the event after finishing the prelims with the fastest time in the field, 25.99. His times in the 100m and 200m are both personal bests.
