Weddington senior Kendall Ford announced her commitment to the University of Tennessee!
"I really loved Tennessee as a school overall, and as soon as I met some of the team I felt welcomed and at home. The academics and overall environment of the schools I toured were most important during recruitment. I know being an athlete is going to be a fraction of college in general, so I didn't want to base my decision on just the track team."
Ford has been a pole vault extraordinaire during her career. She is undefeated this outdoor season in pole vault, and her most recent jump of 12-4 sits her NC No. 16 all-time in the event. She was 10th at Nike Indoor Nationals and runner-up at the 2021 outdoor state championships.
"Both Head Coach Beth Sullivan and Assistant Coach Jim Sullivan were very supportive and encouraging, so I am very excited to learn and grow under them. They are very experienced and knowledgeable on coaching a great program."
Ford will be majoring in Kinesiology and plans to go to PA school.
