POLL: North Carolina Girls Performer of the Week 1/24-1/30


Cuthbertson (Carolina Cavaliers) 4x800m Relay

Ran a true indoors US No. 1 9:14.44 in the 4x800m at Mondo Elite High School Invitational. Their time is good for NC No. 2 all-time. The same four runners on the relay team, Charlotte Bell, Stella Kermes, Alyssa and Justine Preisano, all competed in the one mile run. They finished 2-5 with Alyssa Preisano leading the way in 5:00.29, Bell in 5:00.51, Kermes in 5:00.83, and Justine Preisano in 5:01.15. It is hard to make this comparison, but if you combined their times it would equate to the third best 4xMile Relay in high school history.

Mary Bonner Dalton (Myers Park)

Took down the Cuthbertson quartet in the one mile run at Mondo Elite High School Invitational clocking a NC No. 9 all-time 4:57.03. It is a NC Sophomore No. 2 all-time behind Nevada Mareno's 4:43.23 (which is NC No. 2 all-time for all grades).

Kayla Davis (Hough/Run U Xpress)

Was runner-up in the 300m dash at The Millrose Games running a season best 38.48 Her personal best of 37.38 from 2020 is NC No. 2 all-time.

Lauren Fleming (Marvin Ridge)

She was victorious in the elite 200m dash at the Mondo Elite High School Invitational clocking NC No. 28 all-time, along with US No. 30 and NC No. 1 this season. She was runner-up in the elite 60m dash running a personal best and NC No. 3 7.60.

Shawnti Jackson (Wakefield/Run U Xpress)

Ran a new high school national record in the 60m dash at The Millrose Games clocking a blazing 7.18. She defeated 2020 Olympic 4x100m gold medalist Brianna Williams (Jamaica), 2020 Olympic 200m bronze medalist and No. 3 global all-time 200m runner Gabby Thomas (USA), and 2016 Olympic 4x100m gold medalist and No. 9 global all-time 100m runner English Gardner (USA). Jackson is currently US No. 2 all-time in the 300m, as well.

Sanu Jallow (West Mecklenburg)

Ran a new NC No. 2 all-time 600m of 1:32.78 to take home the win at The Millrose Games. She is also currently US No. 3 in the 500m. 

Falon Spearman (Providence Day School)

Took home victories in the 55mH and elite 60mH at the Mondo Elite High School Invitational. She ran 8.05 in both the prelims and finals of the 55mH, and ran 8.67 in the elite 60mH. Both times are just hundredths of seconds off her personal bests. 

Lauren Tolbert (Highland Tech)

Won both the elite 800m and 1,000m run at the Mondo Elite High School Invitational. She ran 2:59.77 in the 1,000m Friday, which is NC No. 5 this season, and came back stronger Saturday in the 800m with a NC No. 3 all-time 2:13.81.

Dana Wilson (Greensboro Day School)

The freshman took home the win in the elite 60m dash at the Mondo Elite High School Invitational clocking a personal best and NC Freshman No. 3 all-time 7.59. Her time is also good for US No. T-25 this season, as well as US Freshman No. 31 all-time and No. 1 this season.
