Madison Central, Kentucky's Ciara O'Shea dropped a 32 second personal best of 17:08 to win the Race of Champions at Great American XC Festival.
She entered the day with a personal best of 17:40 from the 2020 season, and the best she had ran this season was 17:45. The lead group went through the 2000m mark at 6:45 with O'Shea sitting in 3rd place.
She powered up the final hill and pulled away from the field and crossed the line emphatically in a new personal best and US No. 14 time of 17:08. Hear what O'Shea had to say about her performance!
