Christopher Upton (R-S Central) is fresh off another SWAC Conference Championship both individually and for his team. Upton has been on a tear this season, having won six straight races, including two sub 16:00 performances. Upton, a senior, has a personal best of 15:49 from earlier this season. Upton was 6th in last season's NCHSAA 2A XC State Meet and 9th the year before that. Upton was also 3rd in the 1600m at last season's NCHSAA 1A/2A Indoor State Meet. Upton won this week's NCRunners Athlete of the Week poll bringing in 29.77% of votes! Justin Hayes (Panther Creek) was 2nd with 20.94% of the votes.
