Coming in at #3 on our Pre-Season NCISAA XC Team Countdown is Providence Day School!
Overall NCISAA Rankings
NCISAA 4A Rankings
Providence Day School was 5th at last season's NCISAA 4A State Meet. However, they bring back their entire Top 5 plus a rising freshman who can very well be the best in NCISAA this season. Two standout returners are Ashley Horwitz and Lindsay Smith. The duo were both Top 20 at the State Meet a year ago. Horwitz was 5th at the State Meet in 2018 when she was a freshman. Caroline Sicard was Top 20 in the State Meet in 2018 when she was a sophomore. This Providence Day team has a lot of experience under their belt. Petra Caldwell is only two seconds behind Sicard in 5000m personal bests so look for her to challenge for a top spot on this squad. Mia Streitberger is not far off their top group and gives this squad a lot of depth. The biggest factor to Providence Day's success will be rising freshman superstar Morgan Boonshaft. Boonshaft is a multi-time USATF Junior Olympics State Champion and All-American. She was victorious in the 13-14 age group at Foot Locker South last season. Boonshaft already holds a 18:05 5000m personal best which would place her #1 in the NCISAA returning rankings. Morgan Boonshaft is a superstar, but she isn't the only rising freshman for PDS that is ready to make an impact. In the CISAA Virtual 3200m in August we saw Boonshaft victorious, but Providence Day's #2 was fellow freshman Carly Arrington. Providence Day's #3 was former Providence High School runner Tate Arrington. With the Arrington sisters added to this roster they could be unbeatable come State Meet time.
