Covenant Day placed 7th in last season's NCISAA 4A State Meet and returns six of their top seven. Rising senior Bryson Mace is going to be the pack leader for this squad as the All-State runner looks to move even higher in the state. Covenant Day's strength is in their middle pack. They have only a nine second gap in personal bests between their 2-3-4 runners. John Michael Salamone and Ian DeYoung finished back-to-back in 36th and 37th respectively at the state meet. Both now upperclassmen Salamone and DeYoung need to make moves up to join Mace at the front if they want to compete in 4A. Andrew Hempe will be the third piece of that middle pack trio and has brother Evan Hempe on his tail. Harry Cogdill will be in the running for a top five position on this team. With Mace up front, Covenant Day can be a very dangerous school come state meet time! They come into the season ranked #4 in 4A but the right race on the right day could boost this squad into championship contention!
