All-State runner Mary Schleusner is back for her junior campaign and is ready to take this Charlotte Latin team to the next level. Although they lost three of their top seven to graduation, they are ready to rebuild and reload. The 2-3-4 trio for this team will be the most important to their long term success this season. Mary Cate Kiser, Madeleine Pease, and Maria Llerenas Soto are ready to take the challenge necessary to compete for a State Title. They have a 35 gap between those three based on personal bests and they were all within seven spots of each other at the State Meet. If this pack can work their way up to the front of NCISAA 4A this team will be very dangerous come state meet time. They finished 3rd as a team at the state meet last season and this season is looking to be even more competitive up front. The winner of the NCISAA Girls 4A meet will have to have their entire team run well on that day; there will be no margin for error. If the 2-3-4 trio can produce behind Schleusner this team could be very hard to beat. Helen Hurden is the likely #5 for this team and will have to show great improvement from her freshman to sophomore seasons.
