This Charlotte Latin squad was 6th place at last season's NCISAA 4A State Meet with only a 39 second spread between their 1-5. They return 6/7 of their top seven including their top three. Charles Harris leads the charge for Charlotte Latin, he finished 27th in the State Meet last season and is the only returning who has a personal best under 17:00. Right behind Harris in 28th place was Harrison Klingman and in 30th was Emilio Llerenas-Soto. The trio up front for Charlotte Latin has potential to have three runners contend for All-State spots. Will Vaughn had a great race at the state meet finishing as Charlotte Latin's #5 runner and 41st overall. Cole Lavelle is only one second behind Llerenas-Soto based off personal bests, so look for him to contend up with the front pack this season. Hampton House is right behind Vaughn so the battle for Charlotte Latin's #5 will be electric in its own right. The biggest pro to a team with strong pack is that if they all run well on the same day they can be very dangerous and even challenge for a state title. The con is that their margin of error is much smaller. This team is currently #5 in 4A but the race for the state title will be one of the tightest in recent memory.
