Top Moments From Cassandra Lockhart Invitational

The Jumpers Soar!

In the field events we saw some huge jumps in the long and triple jump on both the boys' and girls' side! Armond Hopkins (Butler) won the long jump and triple jump at Jace's Journey Invitational and looked to keep the strong summer going. Hopkins soared to a 45'03" triple jump, making it only the third time in his career he has cleared the 45' mark. On the girls' side Amber Jackson (Ardrey Kell) made her jumpning debut of the summer, and it was a strong one. She PR'd in both the triple and long jump marking 38'5" in the truple and 17'5" in the long. Her 38'5" triple jump is good for a NC #2 this outdoor season. She was bested in the long jump, however, by Zahra Bichara (Mountain Island Charter) who also jumped a NC #2 this season. Aaron Ray (Loyola-Blakefield, MD) won the long jump in a personal best of 22'6.25". It was quite the trip down to NC for Ray as he also won and PR'd in the 100m dash.
