The 2011 Cary Girls team was deep! They featured four girls under 2:17 in the 800m: Deanna Foshee, Erin Foshee, Sheridan Jordan, and Jenna Christensen. At the 2011 Outdoor State Meet these four ladies dominated the rest of the field easily taking the state title in 9:06.
In the open 800m on the same day Deanna Foshee placed 3rd and Sheridan Jordan placed 7th. In the 1600m Deanna Foshee finished 8th and Jenna Christensen finished 9th. All four members of this team went on to run in the NCAA at the Division I level. Jenna Christensen attended UNC-Charlotte while the Foshee sisters and Sheridan Jordan all attended North Carolina State.
At the 2011 New Balance Outdoor Nationals the Cary Girls battled hard to the finish and placed 3rd in the 4x800m Championship. They managed to best their time from the state meet and set a new state record of 9:01.23! They doubled down in the Distance Medley Relay and ran 12:04.42 to take 9th in the DMR Championship, good for NC #4 All Time.
