It is time for the Finals of the MileSplit NC Track Madness! Kayla Davis matches up against the 2011 Cary Girls 4x800m team. Davis took home the 400m State Record as a freshman at New Balance Outdoor Nationals running 51.17. Her mark shattered the North Carolina State Record which was previously 52.74. Her record should only get faster as she is a 2022 grad. She is also NC#2 All-Time behind Mayo in the 200m at 23.08.
(Kayla Davis after her 51.17 at New Balance Outdoor Nationals)
Davis was on a tear during the 2020 indoor track season as a sophomore. She secured victories in the 200m and 400m at both the Camel City Elite Invitational and the Mondo Elite HS Invitational. She barely took 2nd to Athing Mu in the 300m at the VA Showcase where she ran a NC #1 All-Time 37.38.
During the 2019 outdoor season as a freshman, Davis reset the record books running a NC State Record 400m dash time of 51.17 at New Balance Outdoor Nationals! Later that season she would go on to win the 400m at the USATF U20 Championships and Pan-American U20 Championships. With still two more years to go Davis will look to continue to tear up the track and the record book!
