Field Events
Jieem Bullock (North Brunswick) will be the star to watch tomorrow in the field events. He's a strong candidate for 3A State Meet MVP as a favorite in the Long Jump, High Jump and 55m Hurdles. Bullock didn't win the Long Jump last year indoors, but went on to upset the country to win the indoor national title. He also earned All-American status in the Long Jump and High Jump outdoors. He's jumped 24-0 and 6-8 in the two events this indoor season
The Shot Put is going to be a 5-man battle with five boys over 50 feet this season. Jaikwez Woresly (Eastern Wayne) has thrown 53-4.5 and Luke Noonan (Piedmont) 52-1.5. Quadrez Lassiter (Eastern Wayne), Lee Sales (Mount Tabor) and Alec Mock (Weddington) have thrown 51-8. Mock was the 3A Outdoor Shot Put Champion last year and is the top indoor returner as well.
Jordan Purvis (Southern Durham) comes in as the top triple jumper by nearly 2 feat with a mark of 46-8.5. He'll be the favorite coming in with Chandler Dowell (Parkland), Nate Williams (Northern Guilford) having seasons best of 44-9 and 44-1 respectively.
