What was your greatest moment while competing in high school?
My greatest moment in track was being with my teammates in New York for nationals. It made us become a family and we made fun memories. Also qualifying for states in long jump my senior season for indoor because I had just started doing it again.
My biggest regret was playing basketball my junior season and thinking I'd still be able to manage both practices but really I only ended up running in 3 meets indoor. Still managed to qualify for states though. Also I didn't take track serious until my junior season because I didn't know how much passion I had for it.
I will miss all the people I met from the meets. I will miss JDL and going to the Bojangles track meet with all my teammates.
For rising freshman I'd like to say, take it serious from the start because you never know how good you'll get and how much you'd actually like track and for the seniors go out there and leave a mark. Make it your best season and have fun with it.
I'd have to say the hardest workout I did was 400h workout. Set up the first 200 with the hurdles, run them, jog back and run them again and I'd do that 4 times. I know it was a good workout but I didn't like it.
I made sure to be a good role model on my team because I was the only senior. I would talk to my teammates and give them advice before they ran and I would push them at practice.
My college plans are to go to university of North Carolina Wilmington to continue my academics and athletics. I plan on majoring in criminology.
