Cameron Rose (Hickory Ridge) ran 10.39 (+0.2) in the Championship Boys 100m Dash Finals! The mark improves his PR from 10.47 earlier this season at regionals.
The 100m Dash is so deep it's extremely difficult to even make the final. Rose would win his prelim heat taking 3rd overall through the prelims in 10.44 (+3.5). Despite an all-conditions PR he was critical of his race and knew he could run better in the finals.
Joseph Fahnbulleh (Hopkins, MN) and Javonte' Harding (Prince George, VA) were the fastest two qualifiers at 10.41 and 10.43.
In the finals Rose would run in lane 3 with Fahnbulleh and Harding to his left. With a headwind down the track they would run both the prelims and finals in reserve.
Rose had a good start and roared down the track, and was edged by Fahnbulleh who won in 10.35 as well as Harding by .006 seconds also clocking 10.39.
The mark is good for a new NC No. 1 as well as a current US No. 12.
According to NCPrepTrack, Rose's mark is NC#6 All-Time under legal wind (under +2.0)
