Randolph Ross Joins Father At North Carolina A&T!

Six-time NCHSAA Class 4A State Champion Randolph Ross (Garner) has committed to North Carolina A&T University.

Ross will join his father, Duane Ross, who is the Director of the Track and Field Program with the Aggies. Coach Ross joined the North Carolina A&T program in 2012 and has elevated the program to one of the strongest sprint programs in the country.

Randolph Ross had this to say about his commitment: "Besides my father being a good coach, I see the school as an opportunity to go beyond college in track and a job, also being coached under your father isn't something that happens a lot so I like being different."

Ross had Ohio State University, University of South Carolina and University of Iowa on display at his signing ceremony before flashing a North Carolina A&T shirt.

Ross recently won the NCHSAA Class 4A Championship in the 400m Dash clocking a NC No. 5 all-time mark of 46.80.  Ross became the 11th boy in North Carolina history to break the 47 second barrier. He also sits at NC No. 3 all-time Indoors with a 47.57 400m mark and owns the North Carolina 300m Indoor State Record of 33.80.

Along with his outstanding accolades in the sprint, Ross is a 7-foot high jumper and All-American in the high jump as well as the 400m.

Ross plans to compete over the course of the summer and has a chance at breaking Chantz Sawyers' 400m state record of 46.31 set in 2017.
