Carolina Day School junior Lee Langstaff had a big breakthrough yesterday in the long and high jump at the Leesa Anderson Invitational at Brevard College.
Last years NCISAA 1A/2A long and high jump state champion cemented himself as a heavy favorite to claim the NCISAA Division II state titles this spring.
He held PRs of 6-5 and 22-0 in the events, but had a career day yesterday clearing 22-6 in the long jump as well as 6-8 in the high jump. The high jump is one of North Carolina's strongest events nationally on the boys side, Langstaff now is tied for NC No. 3 with his 6-8 yesterday. His 22-6 is good for a NC No. 11 mark in the long jump.
