State Meet Relay Records That Could Fall This Weekend

High Point Central's 3:48.73 from 2017

NCHSAA 4A State Meet Relay Records

Boys

4x200m - 1:30.18, Parkland, 2015

4x400m - 3:21.10, Knightdale, 2014

4x800m - 7:57.23, South View, 2015

Girls

4x200m - 1:39.92, Parkland, 2015

4x400m - 3:48.73, High Point Central, 2017

4x800m - 9:25.42, Leesville Road, 2015

Four of these 4A State Meet Records will be in jeopardy this weekend.  South View Boy's 4x800m and High Point Central Girls 4x400m looks to be safe through the 2019 state championships.

Boys 4x200m seems to be the biggest lock to fall.  Both Southeast Raleigh and Reagan have run 1:28.73 this season and both ran fastest at Mondo Elite at JDL running 1:28.73 and 1:29.23 respectively.  Prior to this year only Weddington had been able to break 1:30 at JDL Fast Track.  These two teams accomplished that feat two weeks ago.  Their battle should be one of the most exciting of the weekend.

Knightdale's 4x400m record is possible to fall with Southeast Raleigh who has run 3:22.94 this season.  Their performance at Mondo Elite was the first time we'd seen them with all their top athletes on the relay this season.  With the team title on the line you can expect them to throw down a good time, though I'm not sure anyone will be able to keep pace with them.

Southeast Raleigh's girls ran 1:39.56 up at the VA Showcase a few weeks ago and look to be the class of the field in 4A this winter.  The 2015 team is the only school to ever break 1:40 at JDL Fast Track.  Southeast Raleigh will look to be the second team to do so.

Reagan girls seem plenty capable of breaking Leesville Road's 4x800m 4A state meet record from 2015.  The Raiders have run 9:28.57 winning by a wide margin.  With all four of their athletes running three distance events on the weekend and being favorites by over 30 seconds they might not need to push it to their full potential.  No other 4A team has broken 10 minutes this indoor season.
