Elliott Kleckner (Croatan)
We knew Kleckner would be strong for Croatan this fall after he had a promising summer track season running 4:39 for the 1500m and 9:48 for the 3000m. He was dominant in his area at the middle school level and ran his first major 5K last weekend at the Jungle Run. Kleckner battled up front to become the 4th freshman under 17 this fall. Kleckner is going to be a guy to watch out of the 2A East Region for years to come, and could be a big factor in the 2A classification as he gets older. He currently ranks 6th in the 2A State Rankings.
