Giovanni Rincon (Union Pines)
We knew Rincon was going to have a strong freshman year at Union Pines. He made his 5K High School debut at the Jungle Run clocking 16:46 taking 19th overall finishing as the top freshman in the meet. As an 8th grader at Crain's Creek MS Rincon clocked 2:00.97 for the 800m as well as 4:22 for the 1500m and 4:45 for the 1600m. I think Rincon's certainly better suited for to be a bigger track star than cross country, but he's certainly proven he'll be a force in XC over the next four years.
