Veronica Fraley Breaks Discus Meet Record
Wakefield star Veronica Fraley competed in the Discus with the goal of breaking Raven Saunders (Burke, SC) record of 159-11 from 2014. Fraley and Tedreauna Britt (Woodland, SC) had both thrown over the meet record prior to Saturday.
Early in the competition Fraley got the meet record out of the way with a throw of 161-10. All she had to do was ensure she finished ahead of Britt. Britt ended with a best throw of 157-6, and Fraley had a lot of good throws, but they either were just short of her 161-10 or were a foul. One throw for sure was well over her 161-10, but there was a red flag meaning she stepped out of the ring.
Fraley said in interview she hopes to clear 180 feet this season and possibly looks to throw closer to 200 feet in the discus this season.

Fraley also won the Shot Put with a seasons best mark of 46-0 winning the event by just over 3 feet.
