Girls 300 Hurdles
Heat 4 out of 5 went off and Emerson Porter (Providence Day) in her second ever 300mH race set an impressive mark to beat. Porter clocked a 3 second PR of 45.81, good for NC#8 dominating her heat. Off the track Porter also had a huge PR in the pole vault as she won with a mark of 12-0, good for NC#3!
That left Beonca Smith (RJ Reynolds) and Elizabeth White on the line knowing they'd need to run near their best to win. White, in lane 2, did not look to get out extremely well as lane 1 made up the stagger on her very quickly. But White was patient and down the homestretch started to pull away from the field narrowly edging Porter's mark running an NC#5 45.69! Beonca Smith had a good day as well and ended up 3rd in 46.95.
