Nelson breaks record in 400 at Caribbean Scholastic Invitational
Nelson broke the 400-meter dash record at the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational in Puerto Rico last weekend.
The Patriot ran 53.94 seconds. The previous record (54.85) was held since 2006 by National Scholastic Sports Foundation's Brandi Cross.
The meet started in 2006.
Pendleton rising junior Jasmin Stowers tied the 100-meter hurdles record with her victory in 14.09 seconds.
Nelson also competed in the 1600-meter relay winning team with a time of 3 minutes, 41.44 seconds.
