Last weekend the 2A and 4A classifications held their state meets at North Carolina A&T University. This weekend the 1A & 3A athletes will compete for team and individual titles.
Here's a look at the performance lists for both meets:
3A Boys & Girls | 1A Boys & Girls
The NCISAA Championships are this weekend, with the 3A teams competing at Forsyth Country Day and the 1A/2A teams competing Johnson C. Smith University.
Charlotte Latin's girls look stronger than ever with Malai Walker and Jasmine Isley continuing to lead a dominate sprint core. Now add in freshman Kamorean Spence and depth in the distance events - this is a team to be reckoned with. Cary Academy, Durham Academy, Providence Day, and Forsyth Country Day should be in a heated battle for 2nd place.
Providence Day's boys could be the favorites, but everything must go right. Charlotte Latin has a strong sprinting group with some solid middle distance as well. Durham Academy is back in the distance events and also has scorers across the board. This could be a very tight state meet . . . could it come down to the 4x400?
Victory Christian is good . . . they have competed against some of the state's top teams and held their own. Look for them to take home titles in both the boys and girls.
