National Weekend Is At Hand!

Nike Indoor Nationals in Landover, MD and the National Scholastic Indoor Championships in New York City are both this weekend. There are athletes from all over the state competing at both meets.Here are a number of helpful links for you to keep up with all the action.

NSIC Day One:

  • TJ Graham of Wakefield ran 6.90 to qualify for the semis with the 6th fastest time
  • Spencer Adams of Butler qualifies 1st for the semis with a time 7.82 in the 60mH - US #5
  • West Charlotte's boys finished 12th overall in the 1600 SMR with a time of 3:34.97
  • Nyosha Bryant of West Charlotte ran 7.59 to move on in the 60m dash, she was 7th in the prelims
  • Malai Walker of Charlotte Latin also moved on in the 60m dash, she ran 7.67 for 13th in the prelims
  • West Charlotte's Shequyra Guy also qualified and moved on with a 7.77, good for 19th in the prelims
  • Nyosha Bryant finished 4th in the long jump with a leap of 19-00.00

NIN Day One:

  • Dakota Peachee of West Johnston finished 8th in the 5000m run with a time of 15:33.24
  • Lauren Bishop of Pinecrest cracked 19:00 with an 18:58 in the 5000m, good for 10th
  • New Bern finished 2nd overall in the 4x200m relay with a time of 1:30.02.
  • Margaret Leak of Mount Tabor finished 8th overall in the girl's freshmen mile, hitting 5:21.80
  • Green Hope's 4xmile team finished 3rd overall and won their heat in 18:10, about 4:33 per mile
  • Mooresville finished 6th overall and 2nd in the same heat in 18:12
