The boys from Green Hope and Broughton traveled to the first ever Nike Team Southeast Regional.
16 of the top teams in the SE regional traveled to Hoover, AL for the regional. Green Hope pulled off a top 10 finish with their 8th place overall. Broughton, the 4A state champs, finished 12th in the race.
Green Hope was led by 9th grader Ryan Walling. Ryan hadn't led the GH team yet this year, so they were helped greatly by his outstanding performance. Walling was the only NC athlete to break 17:00 on the tough Hoover course. He hit 16:57 to place 25th overall. Following him and scoring for the Green Hope team was: Bryan Speitzer, Zak Roshdy, Doug Black, and Brian Pahle.
