It was a GREAT weekend for Rhode Islanders at New Balance Nationals!

The Ocean State couldn't have had a better opener on Friday night. After a two-hour rain delay, the 5,000-meter races finally kicked off around 11 p.m. In the girls' event, La Salle senior Sheridan Wilbur broke a state record by finishing seventh overall with a time of 17:10. In the boys' race, Ram sophomore D.J. Principe smashed the boys' mark by former Westerly great Andrew Springer by 14 seconds with his time of 14:42.15, good for fifth overall and All-American status.
