Great American isn't what it used to be, but that doesn't take anything away from the TC Roberson girls. The last two years they have competed in the Race of Champions while in Hoover, AL and done well. In 2006 they were 11th and Saturday they finished 6th.
The field was a good one, with 4 of the top 10 teams from the SE rankings. Then there were also 5 other teams who have or are receiving votes for the top 10.
TC Roberson is coming off a very impressive run at the Wendy's Invitational as they placed 5 girls under 20:00 without their #1, Caroline Kirby. I'm sure they went down to Hoover with confidence and I have to think they're coming back the same way.
Caroline Kirby finished 23rd overall in the 19:20. She led the girls who had 1 other under 20:00, and all 5 scorers under 20:30. The course at Hoover is much more difficult than McAlpine which they ran last week.

TCR has been ranked 1st in the 3A Coaches Poll all season long. They will be going to Tanglewood as the obvious favorite to win their 9th 3A title in the last 11 years!
