Best known for her high jumping, the Avery senior is also a strong hurdler and long sprinter, and she has ambitions to become a multi-event athlete in college.


First came the high jump, a natural extension of her success in volleyball and basketball, and the 400. In her freshman season, she cleared 5 feet and ran 59.56 The next spring, she added hurdling, and she ran 16.01 and 46.17 as a sophomore, winning the 1A state championship in the latter event. That's when things got serious for Kylie Polsgrove, and track became the central focus (although she still plays multiple sports, as you will see in the interview). Her extra focus resulted in improvements to 5' 6", 15.17, and 44.79, plus two more state titles in both hurdle races. So what's missing for Kylie? I think she would say the state title in the high jump,
