Ryen Frazier, Ravenscroft, 4:49.78 for 1600 Meters
Frazier already had the national lead in the full mile, having run 4:44 a few weekends ago during the tune-up to her second-place finish at Foot Locker Nationals. The Ravenscroft senior sat behind fellow cross country All-American Libby Davidson (EC Glass VA) for the first 400, then took command with a power move on the back stretch of the 3rd lap and never looked back. Her 4:49.78 wasn't as fast as that amazing mile, but it's still the best in the nation. In fact, no other runner in the United States has even broken 5 minutes this winter! That means Nevada Mareno (Leesville Road), who passed Davidson for second late in the race, is actually US #2 right now with her 5:00.63.
