Given the sheer number of great distance runners in North Carolina right now, it's hard to recognize each individual sufficiently.
A brief note before we get too far into this exercise: there are far too many great distance runners in our state right now to name all of them, especially on the girls' side. There are at least 10 in North Carolina that I could justify putting as the title photo on one of the upcoming slides. In the interest of saving time and space, though, I have chosen to write one slide per event. Even so, it was still difficult to recognize everyone that is capable of producing a nationally significant performance (or one that ranks in the state's all-time top 25). Eventually, though, every preview has to end, and that means somebody is always the first athlete left off. It is a wonderful time to be a fan of girls' distance running in this state!
