Kamorean Hayes of Harding defeated Karen Shump of Penncrest (PA) by 3.25 inches. Hayes thre 49-03.75 to win the competition. Shump and Hayes went back and forth all indoor season competing for the furthest throw in the US. Eventually, Hayes won the National title in Maryland with a huge throw of 52'.
Charlotte Latin's girls ran 50.05 in the small girl's 4x100. Reynolds wasn't far behind in 50.54.
In the 4x400, CLS ran 4:13.29. Sanderson ran 4:13.90.
Jasmine Isley of Charlotte Latin ran 1:04.66 in the 400mH and Shanice Jones of Reynolds ran 1:05.95.
RJ Reynolds ran 43.98 in the 4x100 boys race. Charlotte Latin's boys ran 44.83 in the 4x100.
Andy Wacker of Pinecrest ran a very impressive 8:38.86 to finish 10th in the 3000m run.
Aslynn Halvorson of Butler finished 2nd in the girl's discus competition with a throw of 139-07.00.
Reynolds' boys ran 3:34.68 in the 4x400. Charlotte Latin ran 3:32.94, the top time among private schools this year.
