Seven sub-20 runners are back from 2013 for Marvin Ridge, including one sub-18 runner in state title contender Lexi King. Even worse for their opponents: the Mavericks did not have a single junior or senior in their lineup last fall! This team has the potential to win a 3A state championship, and the scary thing is that they might not even hit their peak for another year. Track results were outstanding, with 5-girl averages of 5:28 and 11:51, which backs up the possibility for Marvin Ridge to put at least their front 4 under 19 this fall, and the Mavericks have a solid record of year-to-year improvement. There is also a solid middle school program feeding young talent into this program, which should improve the depth even more. The sky is the limit for Marvin Ridge over the next two years, and it would not be a huge surprise to see them reach #1 in the All-Classes Rankings at some point.
