**UPDATED** North Carolina Athletes to Head Down Under This Summer

This summer, July 14 - 25, I will be taking a group of XC athletes to Australia and Hawaii to participate in the Down Under International Games. I'm sure that some of you have received information in the past, but there has never been a team from North Carolina compete before.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to travel and join in on this experience with some of North Carolina's best athletes. I have sent out invitations to a number of runners already, but I am writing this article to open it up to others. The trip is open to any CURRENT 9th-12th grade athlete!

The trip consists of about 9 days in Australia and 2 days in Hawaii. There are excursions to select and go on while on the trip during the afternoons. The mornings are set aside for training. There are 2 races while there, (1) against the other states that are there (All America Race) and (2) against the other states and Australia and New Zealand.

Check out some cross country photos.

I would like to take a maximum of 25 athletes in this, our first year. It will be on a first come, first serve basis. So, if you are interested, you need to get in touch with me ASAP.

There are 3 informational meetings coming up soon. Two in January and one in February. I will not be able to attend the first one, but I will be at the other two. Please plan on attending one. You can find them HERE.

I have a lot of information for you once you let me know you are interested.

Please email me, Coach Hovis for more information.
