Frazier Wins Dream Mile In Her Third Attempt

In her third attempt at the Dream Mile, held as part of the adidas Grand Prix in New York City, Ravenscroft senior Wesley Frazier brought home the win yesterday.  After a ferocious kick down the final stretch, Frazier crossed the line in 4:39.18 for a full mile, the equivalent of 4:37.56 for 1600.  That ranks her first in the nation this spring, and also improves on her North Carolina all-time record in the event.  What a great way to head into New Balance Nationals in three weeks!

Post-Race Interview

At the same meet, North Carolina's newest male sprint star, Trentavis Friday of Cherryville, competed in the Dream 100.  Although he is probably disappointed with his 10.73 time and 7th-place finish, the cool and rainy conditions had an effect on all the runners.  It is amazing that he was even in the race as one of nine competitors after not even being able to run the 100 in 2012.  This junior has tremendous potential, and should be able to leave his mark in the NC all-time rankings by the time his high school career is over.
