Providence Invitational, NC Runners Dominate Early National Rankings

Cary's Bakri Abushouk is the early national leader, and there are 8 runners from North Carolina in the the national top 15's.

 

North Carolina has one of the earliest starts to the official cross country season of any state in the country.  The Providence Invitational on Saturday was exceptionally fast (even significantly faster than McAlpine usually runs).  Put those two facts together, and you have a strong showing for North Carolina runners in the early national rankings.  It's too early to develop team rankings, but it's not too early to recognize standout individual performances.
