NCISAA State Championship Preview: 6 State Titles Are Up For Grabs

NCISAA 1A Girls

In 2015 Morgan Lane (Community Christian) took a wrong turn after leading losing the NCISAA 1A individual race.  Last year she ran the course correctly and dominated the NCISAA 1A girls race in 21:12.  This year Lane enters the meet raced 4th overall behind Gray Young (Wayne Country Day), Paige Court (Wayne Christian School) and Katie Hanson (Albemarle School).  Young holds the fastest PR in the field of 20:47 with Court and Hanson at 21:26 and 21:27.  Court was runner up to Lane last year.  Lane likes to take out the pace hard.  The times coming into the race are faster than it has been in years past, which could make for an interesting race.

Wayne Christian School and Wayne Country Day look to be in for a battle tomorrow.  The two schools core 13 and 19 points with University Christian in 3rd with 43.  We only have results from 10 full teams of three.  I expect a few more teams will score tomorrow which could change the team rankings, but I expect it to be between defending champions Wayne Country Day and Wayne Christian.
