Girls NCHSAA 4A Updated Meet Records! Four Meet Records Fall!

The first NCHSAA 4A Meet Record to fall was Maya Singletery (Hoke County) in the 500 as she set a new 2 second PR running 1:13.47, good for NC#2 All-Time and US#2 behind Sammy Watson.  The previous mark was set in 2015 by Cary's Layla White of 1:14.10.

The second was Tamara Clark's (High Point Central) US#6 All-Time 300m dash of 37.81.  Clark's mark was a new North Carolina State Record by nearly a full second and she sits at US#2 behind 2016 Olympian Syndey McLaughlin.  The previous 4A girls meet record was by Tyra Lea (Wakefield) of 38.76 set in 2013.

Then was Sara Platek (Ragsdale) who ran a 10:31.57 which is good for NC#1, US#1.  It would rank NC#6 All-Time if Platek didn't already rank 3rd All-Time with her 10:22 from New Balance Indoor Nationals a year ago.  The previous mark was set in 2016 by Elly Henes.  Platek nearly lapped the entire 4A field on Saturday.

Finally was the last event of the day, the girls 4x400.  High Point Central had run 3:51 this season and shattered that mark on Saturday.  The 4x400 team of Monzerad Crery (11). TiCoiua Gidderon (11), Zhamoura McPhail (9) and Tamara Clark (12) demolished the previous meet record of 3:51.74, by Wakefield in 2012, and clocked a 3:48.73.  This mark will sit NC#2 All-Time behind Wakefield who ran 3:43.01 at NBIN in 2011. High Point Central's mark will rank them at US#4.
