The flagship meet of the Hoka One One Postal Nationals has always produced enormous times, like Ryen Frazier's near-sub-10 last year.
This year's Dash for Doobie 3200 has two new features. First, the competitive season for winter track has begun this year, thanks to the change to a November 1st start to practices (a first for NC). That means the 3200's are part of a full polar bear, but more importantly it means that athletes can represent their schools for the first time in meet history - AND we can get team scores!
Second, the meet is now sponsored by Hoka One One as a flagship meet of the revived Postal Nationals, which is a tradition that dates back to the 1960's. Postal Nationals encourages cross country teams to run 3200's on the track and (originally) mail them in to a central clearinghouse, where they were assembled into a meet and a champion was crowned. Now, it has evolved into an internet competition with the same spirit - and we're hoping the Dash for Doobie times will dominate.
