Chances are very good that there will be no repeat champions in the 4 races of the afternoon session, and that means teams like the Gray Stone Day girls have the opportunity to start new streaks.
It will be another rainy day in a season that has been full of them, and another rainy state meet (although thankfully not nearly as cold as last year's was!). Despite that, the top teams and individuals from the state's public schools will descend on Ivey Redmon Saturday, with the 1A & 3A schools providing the finale to North Caroilna's championship season (although the postseason is still yet to come!). In contrast to the morning session, there is only one championship streak being carried into any of the 4 races in the afternoon. That means there will very likely be new team champions in all four classifications, and in some cases the door is wide open for a number of contenders to try to get onto the podium.
