The Ravenscroft graduate, who has transferred to NC State from Duke, ran a PR of 15:45 while leading a race that produced the top 7 times in the NCAA this season.


Wesley Frazier competed unattached at the Raleigh Relays on Friday night, and it was significant in many ways. It was her first race at her new home track after transferring from Duke to NC State, where she will train and compete alongside younger sister Ryen next year. It was also a lifetime best of 15:45.31 for Frazier, which would be the NCAA leader so far this season if she were eligible to compete for the Wolfpack (transfers must sit out a year of competition). In fact, Frazier led future teammates Samantha George (formerly of Millbrook) and Erika Kemp (Rancocas Valley NJ) under the 16-minute mark, as the race produced the 7 fastest 5000 times in the NCAA this spring. That also includes Virginia Tech senior Sarah Rapp, a Cardinal Gibbons grad, who finished 3rd in 16:07.
