Emme Fisher won her only race of the season, but she faces a tough test in Greenville on Saturday.
The excitement from this meet lies in the fact that it is difficult to predict across the board. This is largely due to the enigma of the West Carteret squad, which has only one meet recorded in our database (and that was on a relatively unknown course on a hot day). There is also the fact that a few key individuals in this meet have not quite met the expectations that they left off with last fall. However, expect some breakthroughs in this Saturday's races - the Lake Kristi course is flat and fast, and the weather is favorable for good performances. One final subplot to the Pirate Invitational: although there will be a sprinkling of 4A schools present, it is really an excellent chance for 3A or smaller schools to establish their credentials and build confidence for the postseason.
