Makenzie Jones and Morristown-West came to North Carolina and made a statement heard back in Tennessee.

 

Jackson Park is what WNC Carnival meet director Dave Culp calls "an honest course."  It has three decent-sized hills on each trip through the double loop, and when the grass is wet from morning dew it can be a real challenge to maintain speed.  In addition to the damp, it was an unusually hot and humid morning, and as a result this was not the fastest edition of the Carnival.  That can't take away from the talented teams and individuals that came to Hendersonville for a season-opening challenge, and on the girls' side they certainly got one.
