The two Cary girls teams and the Terry Sanford boys showed up in the distance events this weekend! To start off the meet, Phillip Hall (Terry Sanford) ran down the Pine Forest boys in the final lap of the 4x800m to win the event for his team. He won the 1600m later in the day, putting on a show to run a 4:28 with significant negative splits, and contributing to a Terry Sanford sweep in the event. Hall also took the 800m with a 1:55, the #2 time for NC this year. Astrike-Davis (Cary Academy) took home dominant wins in the 1600m and the 3200m, while the Cary girls, Layla White and Lakeisha Warner placed first and second in the 800m, running near identical times of 2:21.

Ama-Selina Tchume (Wakefield) took command of the women’s sprints as she captured wins in the 100m and 200m events, setting NC #2 and NC #1 respectively, in the process.
