Ben Huffman (Providence Day) forced the pace early and opened lead of over 50 meters by the time the field reached 800 meters to go. That's when Ian Milder (Mount Tabor) moved to the front of the chase pack and began to bridge the gap. Milder caught up with 200 to go, then went past on the exit of the final curve, holding on to win in 8:58.37 to Huffman's 8:58.84. Milder's final 800 was 2:05, and his final 400 under 60.
