Meet Information

The staff and parents of the Watauga High School track team would like to welcome you to the Western 4A Track Regional. This meet serves as one of four qualifiers for the 4A State Track meet to be held Saturday, May 9th, at North Carolina A & T University. The top four athletes in each event will advance to the State Championships.
All field event workers for this meet come from one of three groups.
1. The Watauga Track staff.
2. The Watauga booster club.
3. Local community members.
No coaches from any school will be needed to work field events. Consequently, no coaches will need to be on the inside of the fence around the track at any time. All coaching needs to be done from outside the fence around the track, this includes the pole vault. There are no coachs boxes inside the fenced area.
Coaches will be needed to work relay zones. Volunteers from each conference will be taken at the coaches meeting the morning of the meet.
There will be one coach from each conference on the Jury of Appeals. Those assignments will be made at the coaches meeting.
A very detailed map of the Watauga campus shows traffic flow for buses and cars. Athlete drop off area and entrance to the facility is also very specific. No tents will be permitted in the home stands. Tents will only be permitted in the visitor stands and behind the visitor stands. Please note that admission to the meet in $6. No warm ups will be done on the infield. All warm ups should be done on our lower field.
The coaches meeting will take place in the commons of the school and will start at 9:45.
A coachs hospitality area will be open all day. Breakfast and lunch items will be supplied.
Entries are being done through NCRunners and are already open. Entries will close Saturday, April 25th at 6:00 pm.
