I have a confession to make: I have grown to hate the process of developing subjective, opinion-based rankings. There are so many variables to consider that it becomes almost impossible to differentiate any two closely-ranked runners, unless you limit yourself by setting narrow criteria ahead of time. I have a plan for what I want to do next year, but until then I am going to stick with a simple snapshot from the database. That means these rankings are solely based on times submitted to MileSplit, without any consideration for competition, weather, or course difficulty. You are left to form your own opinion of who "deserves" to be #1, or #10, or #25...
