Girls Mile
We just saw Sarah LaTour (Cuthbertson, NC) run 4:57.13 for the full Mile at the adidas Raleigh Relays two weeks ago. Catherine White (Northside, VA) set the meet record back in 2006 running 4:54.22. The meet record could be in jeopardy if LaTour can have a field pushing her and she can recover quickly from the 3200 earlier in the day.
There are a lot of girls capable of running under five minutes in Maryah Nasir (Heathwood Hall, SC), Eliza Broce (West Forsyth, NC), Izzy Evely (Lake Norman Charter, NC), and Leah Helms (Cuthbertson, NC). But if LaTour has to take the pace and push for the time by herself it might be tough to take down. LaTour is known for her ridiculous finishing speed over the final 400. The NC State commit closed in 68 seconds en route to her 4:57 two weeks ago.
