Coming into the year it was Mariah Howlett (Lake Norman Charter) who we had our eyes on to take the 2A girls individual crown. But at this point in the season it's been her teammate Izzy Evely who has thrown down impressive performances of 5th at adidas and 2nd at Hare & Hounds with a NCHSAA 2A best mark of 18:31. Anna-Kathryn Kilby (Forbush) ranks second in the classification as the defending champion with a seasons best of 18:41, though she's been beaten by Evely at both adidas and Hare & Hounds. Will it be a battle between Evely and Kilby, or will Howlett return to the cross country course and mix up the 2A individual title race?
