I expected Broughton to be strong as always, but they've exceeded my expectations already. It's still a stretch to top Green Hope, but they've closed the gap!

The young guys have been impressive. I think things only improve from here.

Adding frosh Ben Hawley to the top 5 is huge. Impressive win at Jungle Run and are virtually tied with Weddington at 1-5

Have looked to find some solutions to their 5th, but need to bring Pace back to 100%, and I expect the do by November

Strong 5k opener at FNL, but I see them getting better with their 5/6/7 closing the gap to their top 4.

Get a big boost from some stud sophomores that are still new to XC and 5ks. Joey Bream also has come up big as a frontrunner for this team.

Adding 17:00 junior Luke Johnson to the team is massive for a smaller school. This gives CA a strong 1-2 punch then a solid 3-5 pack.

Semi-off what I expected from them at FNL finishing behind Cary, Panther Creek. I think the potential is still there for Friendship to be a top 5 team later in the year.

Beat many ranked teams without David Melville at FNL. Would have likely finished just behind Apex Friendship at FNL with David in the lineup. Freshman Jack Dingman is a massive addition

As expected, Gibbons is going to be a team that rises throughout the year. Will add Connor Miles back and should have at least 6 under 17 at seasons end.

Front 3 were strong at Providence Invite, but had an off day from Engle and a few others at FNL. Look for a bounce back this weekend

Looked strong at Jungle Run,

Will see against other top teams this weekend at adidas, but have had a lowkey season thus far. Look to see if they have a strong 5th man this weekend as the top 4 looks solid.

I think PD is a team that will take a while to come to true form. A lot of young guys that will develop over the course of the season.

The Mustangs have a lot more depth than I originally thought! Williamson and Ly look to be strong frontrunner, but want to see them take down some top teams before the shoot up the rankings. A lot of young talent on the squad as well.

Leesville Road is a team I'm really excited to see this week at adidas. Won Knight's Invitational after an off start at Providence, this will be a big test for them against their tough Mideast rivals

Have a strong top 3 all under 17 at FNL. Taking 8th in a strong field, over West Forsyth and Apex

Lost to RJR on a tiebreaker, then impressed again at FNL! Have had plenty of guys have breakthroughs early in the season with 3 under 17.

Cart has impressed early on with a pack from 2-6. Need someone from that group to step up or the pack to move up as a whole

I don't think we've seen them at full strength just yet. Will step up in rankings once Clifford debuts

5th at FNL, but only team on this list they beat was Leesville Road. Look to be big time frontrunners for the NCHSAA 2A team title. Will be in the invitational race at adidas this weekend.

Expect the Cavs to improve as the season goes on. Kiss has been a good frontrunner, but will look for some others to step up from 2-5.

Witmer has been great the last two weeks. Will need 3/4/5 to step up

Have more depth than years past, but can take a big jump if Dollhausen comes to form.
